Welcome
Healing and awareness through body-oriented (trauma) therapy, coaching, and systemic work.
I am glad you found your way to my website. My name is Patrick van Vught, and I am a body-oriented therapist and coach in Amsterdam. Perhaps you are here because you are seeking guidance in your personal journey, or because you feel something is holding you back from living life to the fullest. In any case, something within you went searching and led you here to me.
As a body-oriented therapist, I guide people through their personal journeys towards a more free and authentic life.
Important in this is connection; not only with yourself but also with others. Are you willing to open up, be curious about what is alive within you and bring that into connection?
I invite you to have a look on my website and see if it resonates with you. If it does, you are welcome to contact me so we can discuss how I might be of assistance to you...
My way of working
I create a space where you can slow down, feel, and explore. Together, we cultivate an environment where a sense of safety can grow, allowing your system to open up increasingly to what is alive within you. By connecting more deeply with yourself within the safety of a therapeutic setting, you gradually restore contact with your essence and the unique qualities that arise from it.During a session, we might work with meditation, bioenergetic bodywork, breathwork and creative techniques such as drawing. In my guidance, I am attuned, honest, and direct. I listen not only to what you say but also to what lies beneath the surface.I do not work with the DSM or provide clinical diagnoses; for that, you should contact your GP or psychologist.
We begin with an intake to explore:
what challenges you are facing
what are you longing for
whether there is a connection
After that, we work in sessions lasting approximately 60–75 minutes.
The duration of a proces varies from person to person. Sometimes a few sessions will do, but usually more time is needed. Your system requires time to build a sense of safety and to open up to the process.
‘If stress has been held in your system for years, you can’t just talk it out and expect your body to magically believe it is safe — your body requires a felt experience of safety.’
